The DisplayPort cable is required for the digital transmission of image and video data. If the recher (PC, notebook) and monitor each have a DisplayPort interface, the use of a DisplayPort cable is preferable to analog data transmission (VGA).
DisplayPort™ is a universal connection standard standardized by VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association), a digital interface for the transmission of video and audio signals. In contrast to HDMI, which is mainly used for TV and multimedia devices such as beamers, game consoles and DVD players, DisplayPort™ is primarily used in information technology, i.e. for PCs, notebooks, tablets and monitors in general.
